Love Birds { A Valentines / Galentines Creative Night}

Our Love Birds evening at Truro Lounge, welcomed a lovely mix of people enjoying a creative date night or friends celebrating Galentine’s together. From partners trying something new to best friends ready for a night of chatting, laughing, and painting side by side, the room quickly filled with warmth, colour, and happy energy.

Coats came off, drinks delivered, and that familiar phrase floated around the room — “I’m not artistic!” — usually followed not long after by surprise and proud smiles.

The chosen design for the evening, was Birds in Bloom and can be found as an option on the Mermaid Paint Clubs Painting Designs Menu.

A Different Kind of Date Night

There’s something quietly lovely about doing something creative together on a date.

Gone are the distractions and couples are sat together, sharing paints, comparing colours, and laughing when a brush goes slightly rogue (which happens often — and is always encouraged!).

Painting gives you permission to slow down. Conversations unfold naturally. There’s no rush, no pressure — just the simple joy of making something together.

Celebrating Galentine’s — Friendship in Full Colour

Not all love stories are romantic ones, of course. Some of the loudest laughter came from the Galentine’s tables, where friends gathered to celebrate each other.

There’s a special energy when friends create together — storytelling, reminiscing, encouraging each other, and celebrating every tiny painting victory along the way.

Painting together feels a bit like being children again — playful, relaxed, and wonderfully free, the room filled with confidence growing brushstroke by brushstroke.

By the end, friends were holding up their paintings for photos, proud and surprised by what they’d created.

More Than Just a Night Out

What I notice again and again at Mermaid Paint Club events is how people arrive unsure and leave glowing.

The Love Birds evening wasn’t really about painting birds (although they were beautiful!). It was about connection, slowing down, and giving ourselves permission to play, create, and enjoy the moment.

Valentine’s brought the romance, Galentine’s brought the giggles — and Mermaid Paint Club brought the paintbrushes.

Our Love Birds in Bloom evening welcomed a lovely mix of lovely people enjoying a creative date night and or friends celebrating Galentine’s together.

From nervous “I’m not artistic!” beginnings to proud final masterpieces, the evening quickly became a joyful celebration of connection, creativity, and time spent together.
