I can’t wait to see your Fallen Witches! Post your painting and tag me @mermaidpaintclub #mermaidpaintclub

Step 1 –
Start by mixing white and black to create a grey colour and make a backwards C shape behind the witch.
Then paint the outsides of the canvas black and blend the two colours to meet in the middle.

Step 2 –
Next add some white paint in a C shape and blend in with a sponge.
Slightly wet the sponge to make blending easier if you need to.

Step 3 –
Then using a large brush fill the middle of the canvas with white paint. Roughly outlining the witch. It doesn’t matter if black gets in the mix.
Use your sponge again to blend the paint as it meets the grey.

Step 4 –
Add some splatter with watered down white paint with a large flat brush. Tap or flick the brush. The paint should be the consistency of milk.

Step 5 –
With a clean brush add the black silhouette of the witch’s head, hat and upper body.

Step 6 –
Then continue to add black paint to the bottom of the witch.
Sweep outwards adding circular strands of hair.

Step 7 –
Time to add colour and detail.
Pick TWO colours. Add your first layer of colour. Add leaf shapes, stars, dots and hearts. Add these however you like.
Then add your second colour doing the same.

Step 8
Add silver. Add highlights to the witch’s hat, hair, body. Then add some swirling in the middle and leaf shapes on the outside.

Step 10 – Final Touches
Add more splatter, highlights and colour!
✨ Great job – you’ve painted your very own Fallen Witch!
